Deloitte announced that Thomas F. Rollauer – who served as the director of global compliance at Citigroup – has re-joined the organization’s banking & securities sector, where he will serve as a director in Deloitte & Touche LLP’s regulatory and capital markets consulting team.

A highly respected figure in the sector, Rollauer will advise Deloitte’s U.S. and global banking clients on the critical issues facing the industry, including in the areas of compliance, controls, corporate governance, regulatory relations and risk management issues.

“We are delighted to welcome Tom back into the Deloitte fold,” said Jim Reichbach, Deloitte’s banking & securities sector leader.

“With regulatory, risk management and compliance concerns top of mind for most senior executives today, he is an important and strategic addition to Deloitte’s financial services practice.

“His added perspective and experience on compliance matters strengthens what is already one of the leading professional services teams advising the top banks and securities firms in the U.S.”

“Deloitte has long been a key advisor on compliance and regulatory issues— and I’m looking forward to again being a part of their banking & securities group,” said Rollauer.

“At Deloitte, we’re going to continue to focus on the critical compliance issues facing our clients and the industry, as well as develop and apply solutions to meet their ever-evolving needs.”

During his four-year tenure at Citigroup, Rollauer was responsible for global compliance for Citigroup and all of its member companies.

While there, he led Citi’s efforts to bring all compliance functions together under one, independent, enterprise-wide compliance risk management program.

He also had oversight responsibility for the development and maintenance of Citigroup’s relationships with its global regulators.

While at Citi, Rollauer served as chairman of the ethics oversight committee and the global fiduciary coordinating committee and was a member of a CEO-led task force responsible for the roll-out of the culture-transforming “Five Point Plan.”

Prior to his time at Citigroup, Rollauer was responsible for Deloitte’s bank regulatory consulting practice, which he helped create in 1986.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Rollauer was a senior national bank examiner with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) in New York.

He served in the OCC’s multinational division and went on to become the director of bank supervision with supervisory oversight of all national banks within the OCC’s Northeastern District.

Rollauer received his master’s degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and his bachelor’s degree in economics from Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina.

He has completed the executive program at the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, as well as the commercial banking program at the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
